All of us have the innate drive to grow, heal, and realize our potential, living our fullest life.
But we all, at one time or another, need support along the way.
Let's work together to build a bridge from where you are now in your story, to where you want to be.
Our lives tell many stories
If you could tell your life journey as a story, what part would you be telling right now?
What story is your relationship telling?
Is it the story you want it to be telling? Like any story, there are parts of your romantic relationship you really enjoy –
and there may be some parts that you don’t.
Difficulties arise when the parts we enjoy are overshadowed by the parts of our relationship story that hurt us, or scare us, and even break our hearts. I work with couples who identify as straight or queer in all sorts of relationship styles – monogamous, open – facing challenges like commitment, cheating, jealousy, disconnection, resentment, and uncertainty.
We can work together to shift your relationship story to one that aligns with your values as individuals in a partnership, strengthening your connection, and deepening your understanding of yourself and your loved one.
If you identify as LGBTQ+, finding health professionals with queer and trans competencies can be challenging. I work with clients of all ages who identify as members of LGBTQ+ communities on a range of issues, from identity, expression, and relationship concerns to anxiety and depression.
I integrate a range of therapeutic approaches to explore your emotional, cognitive, and physical experiences. Working collaboratively, we create a therapeutic experience tailored to the unique intersectionality and contexts present in your life. Folks come to work with me on all sorts of concerns:
anxiety and panic
feeling stressed or overwhelmed
relationship conflict and repair
life transitions, like graduation or retirement
destructive thought patterns or behaviours
skills for building lasting connection in relationships
Whatever you would like to focus on, undertaking counselling is a courageous act. I value transparency throughout the counselling process. Feel free to get in touch and ask me questions about my work.
I'm nonbinary and I use they/them pronouns.
Counselling is a huge passion in my life.
When I was a kid, I either wanted to be a counsellor like the character Deanna Troi, on my favorite TV show, Star Trek; or I wanted to act alongside Deanna Troi, starring in my favourite TV show, Star Trek.
After several years working as a theatre artist, I embarked on my journey of therapy and discovery, and devoted myself to completing an MA in Counselling Psychology at UBC. My training includes working with youth who identify as LGBTQ+, and exploring the therapeutic significance of art-making and creativity. As a therapist, I champion using our emotions as a compass to move through our blocks, and our unique strengths as individuals to help lead us to the lives we want to live. My goal is to engage your head, heart, and body.
I am grateful to live, work, and create on the traditional unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh people.
